--Al Strong has a listening session for his upcoming "Lovestrong Vol. 1" CD at Letters Bookshop in downtown Durham 6-7:30.
--After that you can go see Mint Julep Jazz Band play their new CD "Battle Axe" at the Blue Note Grill at 8. However, given how busy the BNG has been, either make a rez or get their early.
Then, on Thursday & Friday, extravore acts give us more choices than normal:
--Jazz/funk bassist Derrick Hodge appears at Motorco at 8p with the Nashville-based Dynamo funk/jazz/kitchen sink large band. One guarantee: the room will be moving funkily as long as someone is playing.
--Friday night South African jazz legend Abdullah Ibrahim plays at Duke. It's always good to hear South African jazz vibes.
Otherwise it's check venues & your favorite artists for plenty of other jazz!
