Between Friday 2/13 & Friday 2/27 five major jazz performers will appear in our area:
2/13: Singer Kurt Elling at Duke Performances
2/15: Singer Tierney Sutton at Sharp Nine
2/19: Singer Dee Dee Bridgewater with the Duke Jazz Ensemble
2/20-21: Pianist Jason Moran & the Bandwagon provide the music for the Ronald Brown dance troupe (I'm going just to hear the music!)
2/28: Avant-garde jazz/music performer/composer Anthony Braxton is at Duke Performances.
As much as I promote local jazz--e.g., the UNC Jazz Fest is 2/18-21 too--the above are too much to miss. Take out a homeowners loan if needed, reverse mortgage your home, etc.
P.S. And, oh, Tony Bennett is at DPAC 2/11. Better get that loan quickly!
