Discovery: When I saw that half the sold-out crowd at the Goldings, Bernstein, & Stewart gig at Sharp Nine last night was musicians, I knew it was gonna be special--& it was:

Guitarist Peter Bernstein played better than I'd ever heard him play before.
Keyboardist Larry Goldings explored all that the Hammond B-3 could do.
Drummer Bill Stewart, the audience fave, played so well & inventively that I won't be able to hear another drummer for a week at least...

We're blessed to have a venue that brings us such music....

Discovery: Bond Brothers Eastside is still a good place to hear jazz. E.g., Angela Bingham & Scott Sawyer made it swing for a fairly full crowd. The sound there is great…
