Nominally a quiet week, there will be fireworks when the Christian Scott Quintet plays three sets a night at the Beyu Friday-Saturday. Those of you who have heard him in Durham over the last fifteen months know what I mean. Plus, he's joined by alto saxist Braxton Cook (who appeared at the Beyu last Friday) & excellent local pianist Ernest Turner.
Peter Burke has liked jazz since he was in high school. Having lived & worked in exotic places with & without local jazz scenes, he has also led a Guide To Local Jazz class in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Duke.
