As much as I've written that there are too many choices of jazz performances hereabouts, it's gotten worse! Of course that's a "worse" we have to live with.
This Friday night there are nine local venues offering quality jazz: Alley 26, Cuban Revolution, the Beyu, the Durham Arts Center, & G2B Gastropub in Durham; the West End Wine Bar in Chapel Hill; & C Grace & the Brasa Steakhouse in Durham. I'll leave it to you to check out the websites covered on this site & to go to Cuban Revolution (which I have yet to check out) site on your own.
What will I do? Dither until the last minute while leaning towards Al Strong whether he's at Alley 26 or Cuban Revolution. He's in need of cloning himself these days...
As for Saturday, not as many choices in addition to the usual suspect venues, but enough: newly arrived singer Jua at Unvined in Cary 8:30; Brian Horton under the open skies at the Straw Valley Café; &, my choice because of the content, the Ernest Turner Quartet (w/ Dave Finucane on tenor) doing Monk at Sharp 9/Durham Jazz Workshop.
