Wednesday: Having been told by one of the Red Clay Ramblers/Sham Rockers that three of them have been playing jazz at Carrboro's 2nd Wind bar Wednesday nights, I'll check what's happening & report back.
Thursday: Fine NCCU student pianist Andrew Berinson performs his Bachelor's recital at B.N. Duke Auditorium. That Andrew has a very busy performance schedule around here is enough to merit a listen, & hearty applause at its end. My only question for him is what next...
Friday: This is where it gets tougher, but I'll catch Zoocru doing its enthusiastic jazz-rock-funk-etc at the Beyu (after I hear some West African music at Duke).
Saturday: I still haven't chosen among many temptations: Beverley Botsford's quintet at the Beyu; rhythmically; Contrazz playing its unique in-between music for contra dancers at the Carrboro Century Center (led by demon accordionist David DiGiuseppe); extravore vintage guitarist Matt Munisteri at Sharp Nine (with Greg Largent on bass); the Durham Symphony's tribute to NC composers, with numerous local jazz players at the Carolina Theatre; singer Jo Gore with pianist Eric Hirsh at the Empress Room; or the Master's recital of fine NCCU student vocalist Maurice Myers at B.N. Duke at 7p (free).
You understand my problem?
