The big thing this week is locavore jazz with extravore traces (perhaps even distingue traces):
NCCU Jazz Festival: Performances are Monday night, Tuesday day & night, Wednesday night, Friday night, & Saturday night. Click here for details. Not sure which events I'll get too yet but I'll be there...
ALS Benefit Concert: Thursday evening at the Carolina Theatre 7p architect Phil Freelon & singer Nnenna Freelon put on a concert benefiting ALS research at Duke, with an all-star line-up--Nnenna herself, violinist Regina Carter, the Take 6 acapella group, John Brown's Little Big Band, & the NCCU Vocal Jazz Ensemble. And, who knows how many other guests might show up. It should be that kind of gig. I'll be there.
Now, this is only just part of what's happening this week. Part II tomorrow....
